Shalom from Tel Aviv

So far our trip has been really great! The plane ride was long, but everything went smoothly. My mom and I watched the Departed and slept some. I read A Child Called It- aand I played some games on my ipod. We got to Tel Aviv at 7:45 am, hopped a cab, and arrived at our hotel.

^^View from our room^^

I feel like I was just here- well, it wasn’t even a year ago since I’ve been- but I still remember where everything is and how to get around.

My sister came to our hotel and it was soo nice to see her! My mom tackled her on the bed.
We went to walk around Tel Aviv to show my mom around. We visited the Shook (market) to pick up some fruit and snacks for the hotel room. Picture 15 farmers markets in a row, and add thousands of people, smashed fruit on the ground, and TONS of fresh food…oh and some flies here and there (ewe)!
^^Look at the size of that date!!!^^
^^Snacks for the week…or maybe for a few days :)^^

Then we went to lunch at this place called “Fresh”. We all got different salads. I got an Asian tofu salad with bean sprouts and peanuts…mmm…and my sister got one with grapefruit and sheep’s milk cheese, and my mom got one with lentils in it. Hit the spot!

^^I need a tan!^^
We went back to the hotel and laid out by the pool. Rachel’s friends came to hang out for a little, they left, then my mom and I went for a long walk on the beach. We were basically doing everything we could to stay awake so we could fall asleep at a normal hour and wake up refreshed today.
After showering and all that, we went to meet Rachel, Erin, and Casey (2 of her friends) at Moon for sushi! The sushi comes on a conveyor belt around the bar.
^^Cucumber seaweed salad^^
Happy Birthday Erin!!!
^^Blurry picture of amazing molten chocolate cake^^

We walked back to our hotel, wrote out a plan for the rest of the week, and passed out. We slept so well and for so long! We feel great today! So refreshed!

Ok, that’s it for now! Shalom!
